Turon - a famous Filipino meryenda and street food in the Philippines. It is also known as lumpiang saging (Filipino for "banana lumpia"). A snack made of thinly sliced bananas (preferably saba or Cardaba bananas), dusted with brown sugar, rolled in a spring roll wrapper and fried till the wrapper is crisp.
Ingredients:
6 pieces bananas saba or plantains, cut in half •(lengthwise)
1 1/2 cup sugar
12 pieces lumpia wrapper
2 cups cooking oil
Cooking Procedures:
Start by preparing the filling. It is composed of a piece of saba banana that is sliced in half lengthwise.
Dredge the banana in sugar until completely coated. You may use any sugar.
Arrange the banana on a lumpia wrapper and place the jackfruit slices on top of the banana. Secure the filling by wrapping.
